Construction has begun to replace sidewalks, curbs, pavement and street lights in Avilla along Albion Street between Vice Boulevard and Haines Street.
Albion Street between Main Street and Baum/Van Scoyoc Street is currently closed to all traffic. As construction moves east, the second block between Baum/Van Scoyoc will be limited access during working hours.
Through traffic should use the detour route of Main Street to Fourth Street to Progress Way. Local traffic should not travel through parking lots to get to their destination.
While they are working in the 200 block of East Albion Street, St. James Restaurant patrons should use the entrance from Van Scoyoc Street. Access to the Post Office will remain open, although it may be difficult at times to get through the construction zone.
While the 100 block is closed Avilla Tap customers will be required to enter from the rear or side doors. The Avilla Hair Shop should be accessed from the side door off Van Scoyoc Street. Case Family Taxes can be reached by phone at 260-318-3346 to set an appointment. Midwest Land Surveying can be accessed from the rear.
The project is expected to be completed by December 15, 2019.
