The Freedom Festival Committee looks forward to welcoming area residents back to the Freedom Festival. This year it will be a two-day event in Avilla. The Freedom Festival will open on June 25 at 4:00 pm and culminate with live music downtown and fireworks show at dusk at Eley Park.
The Festival will host a variety of food vendors selling items ranging from pork burgers to nachos to Philly cheesesteaks. There will also be several craft vendors with varied merchandise. At 5:30 on Friday evening the East Noble Marching Knights will be performing at the main stage on East Albion Street. East Noble High School Student Council will be running several games for children inside the downtown pocket park, Heritage Park, and there will be a sawdust pile stocked with change as well. The kids are invited to dig for treasure in the sawdust pile and keep the money they find. Dave & Rae will be live on the main stage from 7-11 pm Friday night.
Saturday the Freedom Festival will host its 9th Car Show, BBQ Cook-Off, along with Horseshoe and Cornhole Tournaments. The Kiddie King & Queen Contest and Talent Show will both take place on the Main Stage that afternoon. Children’s games and the sawdust pile will continue to be available during this time. From 4-6 pm Sweetcakes Entertainment will be available to paint faces for children and adults alike. The band, Brother will begin playing live on the main stage at 7:00 pm. They will take a break at dusk for the fireworks show event and then resume playing until 11:30.
